Carpet for the home is one of the most durable and budget-minded flooring that is offered today. Choosing carpeting instead of another floor type is popular with people who also like something versatile and easy to care for. Depending on the type of carpets being installed, the do not show the majority of dirt or stains like hardwood or lighter colored flooring.

One example is the polypropylene marine carpet style, which is also called boat carpet. Made in colors that are to withstand lots of wear and abuse on the boat, it comes in colors such as dark blue, charcoal, sand, red, or bronze. Made for boat wear, they come in a 3-foot running length and are 6-ft or 8-ft wide. Made for tough marine environments, the carpeting is highly durable for outdoor use, which is made to resist the mildew or mold that is part of boating, water, and the hot sun. The majority of carpeting would rot-out in this sort of environment within a year, but the marine carpet lasts and last with its rubber backing.

Another highly durable carpet style is the bathroom carpet, which really needs to be tough due to its moist and damp environment in the showers, tubs, washing of hands, and toilets. Bathrooms that have lots of traffic or in large families require some of the new bathroom carpeting with special backing. Otherwise, it is wise to put alternative flooring that doesn’t absorb water around the tub or shower, in addition to the sinks where water splashes onto the floors.

Legato carpet is a dream for people who want lots of color, ease of application, and can do it themselves. It covers older floors and can be used just about anywhere. The hardest part is making sure when you put down the interlocking carpet squares that the carpet goes the correct way. The advantage of this form of carpeting is when a stain won’t come out or a tear forms, you can remove that square and put in a new one, always making sure that the floor looks good.

The one type of carpeting most people don’t think too much about is automotive carpet unless they are purchasing a car, and then the color is the main concern. But once the carpet begins to wear or the vehicle is being redone, good quality automotive carpeting needs to be replaced. Many types are available, such as cut pile, Essex plush pile, nylon look, tuxedo, or 80/20 loops—and this requires some knowledge of this carpeting or trusting your automotive/carpeting man.

Carpet samples are available at any carpet or flooring store to take home and match to the décor, design, or color in the home. They are available for the home, the automobile, work, or wherever carpeting is being applied and needs to match fairly well to what is already in the making. They can be found at any carpet outlet stores, where you go to bargain shop in order to buy carpet, or at any flooring store that sells carpeting.
